Premcore / Valero Pipe Bridge Over Nonconnah Creek

Owner: Valero Memphis Refinery Location: Memphis, Tennessee The Premcore / Valero Pipe Bridge Over Nonconnah Creek is a 514 foot long, 29 foot wide, 3 span bridge with bulb-tee beams using cast-in-place composite decking. The bridge was originally designed for one-lane HS15 truck loading plus a heavy utility piping load. Burr & Cole was involved in the design of the preliminary bulb-tee beam. We also were involved in the Substructure Design including cast-in-place composite deck design, intermediate bents, abutments, and foundations. Location: Memphis, Tennessee Architect: Looney Ricks Kiss Architects This $65 million library is built on a 12 acre urban site in Memphis. It is 6 stories including a basement, garden level and mechanical penthouse. It is 330,000 SF and was constructed with a one-way pan joist system using concrete shear walls. A monumental stair is the centerpiece of this public gathering space.
