Memphis/Shelby County Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library

This $65 million library is built on a 12 acre urban site in Memphis.  This 330,000 SF library was constructed with a one-way pan joist system using concrete shear walls.  A monumental stair is the centerpiece of this beautiful public gathering space.  Along with the material collections and staff workplaces, the building provides public reading and meeting rooms, a bookstore, as well as a public radio and TV studio.
