Our Work: Seismic Evaluations

We performed a Tier 3 Seismic Evaluation of the Odell Horton Federal Building located in the Downtown Memphis Central Business District.  Situated on the bluff, one city block east of the Mississippi River, the building is owned and operated by the U.S. General Services Administration.  It provides space for number of federal agencies including U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, law enforcement agencies, courts, and others. We evaluated 25 highway bridges in Shelby County and determined their performance during a seismic event using three methods: 1) Federal Highway Administration, 2) HAZ-US, and 3) on-site inspections.  The results of the evaluation were used to determine emergency services routes for Shelby County after a significant seismic event. ...
