Memphis Park Pedestrian Bridge

Location:  Memphis, Tennessee Architect:  Ritchie Smith Associates Memphis Park is a 2.68-acre park, founded in 1908. In 2008, the park underwent a renovation to install new lighting, provide a pedestrian walkway bridge, improve landscape, and provide new benches and trash cans. Burr & Cole provided the design, construction documents, and construction observation for foundations, piers and abutments for the 200 foot long, three span pre-manufactured steel pedestrian bridge between the University of Memphis Law School and Memphis Park (formerly known as Confederate Park).      ...

Hope Lodge for the American Cancer Society

Location:  Memphis, Tennessee Architect:  Trivers Associates This project was of the design of a new Hope Lodge for the American Cancer Society in Memphis, TN.  The facility provides 40 guest rooms along with shared public spaces such as day rooms, a living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry and additional supporting spaces.  The building is approximately 30,000 GSF, 3 stories, and is slab-on-grade.  All parking is surface parking.  ...

Presbyterian Day School (PDS) Renovations

Location:  Memphis, Tennessee Architect:  The Crump Firm This two-story building on the 2nd Presbyterian Church campus consists of an early childhood center, gymnasium with a full-sized basketball court, lifetime fitness and a mechanical room. The structure is comprised of steel frame composite concrete slab with reinforced concrete masonry.  This addition to the existing building and adds approximately 83,800 s.f. of new construction. The building addition was designed per High Seismic Zone requirements as governed by the International Building Code 2006. The seismic design incorporated a site specific seismic evaluation.  The seismic occupancy category was considered a substantial hazard to human life and therefore was designed for higher seismic forces than an ordinary building....
