Rhodes College Pedestrian Bridge

Location:  Memphis, Tennessee The historic Rhodes College in midtown Memphis continues to enhance their campus for its growing student body.  An opportunity arose to purchase a renovated housing facility on North Parkway.  There was no access to the property from the main campus even though the properties shared a common boundary.  Lick Creek separated the two properties. Lick Creek is a concrete lined drainage channel within a 45 foot wide public drainage easement.  The solution for connectivity to the main campus was the design and construction of a pedestrian bridge over the creek. Memphis Park Pedestrian Bridge

Location:  Memphis, Tennessee Architect:  Ritchie Smith Associates Memphis Park is a 2.68-acre park, founded in 1908. In 2008, the park underwent a renovation to install new lighting, provide a pedestrian walkway bridge, improve landscape, and provide new benches and trash cans. Burr & Cole provided the design, construction documents, and construction observation for foundations, piers and abutments for the 200 foot long, three span pre-manufactured steel pedestrian bridge between the University of Memphis Law School and Memphis Park (formerly known as Confederate Park).      ...
